Trust is personal in a studio

Three teachers, one shared standard: clear cues, kind presence, and practice that meets you where you are.

Founder

Maya Chen

Vinyasa & Yin

Maya opened Stillwater to create a room that feels like a deep breath — light-filled, unhurried, and genuinely welcoming.

She has taught for twelve years across studios and retreats, with a special love for intelligent sequencing and long holds that invite quiet. Students often say her classes feel like a conversation with the body rather than a checklist of poses.

James Rivera

Restorative & Beginners

James specializes in nervous-system care and crystal-clear foundations — the teacher you want when you’re new or need to slow all the way down.

After years in healthcare, he came to yoga for recovery and stayed for the community. His Restorative evenings are legendary for people who “can’t turn off,” and his Beginners classes make every cue land without overwhelm.
